Wow, I'm not sure if this is a good idea. The first and most important thing to do would be looking for tutorials and looking at what other people have done before. Breaking the cut on your own might ruin your project and give you something you don't want. If someone gives me a tutorial it will be easier to follow, but honestly, I never tried that before. I'm not sure if I'd use a disc or a print...but I love the idea of the design being cut out and the person has to find it.
